Propaganda poster
Most American men had gone off to war soon after Pearl Harbor, and this left room for social change on the home-front. Ever since the Japanese attack the war became very important for most Americans. So, when opportunities in the U.S. arose to help the war effort people answered the call. People would collect scrap metal for shrapnel, and women started working on plane while the men were off at war. Everyone was brought together because they all wanted to aid the war effort.
Political: Responding to Japan
Attack on Pearl Harbor

The president, who had wanted to join the war previously, used the situation to his advantage and convinced the rest of the government i was time to join the war. This resulted in the U.S. becoming a major part of World War II and aiding in the defeat of the Nazis.
